Safety Briefing

Everyone completes our ground-level briefing and demo. We’ll give you the ‘tools and rules’ to head off safely and progress to new heights.

Stay Clipped On

Off the ground means clipped on—no exceptions. Our CLIC-IT smart safety devices "talk" to each other, ensuring one is always locked to the safety line to prevent accidental unclipping.

In Control on Ziplines

At The Stix, you’re the pilot. Control your speed through proper positioning and technique. Staying in control is vital; if you can’t manage your speed, you’ll be grounded for safety.

Personal Responsibility

Your choices are the core of our safety system. Stay focused, skip the "showing off," and follow your training. The best climbers follow the rules—they don't take shortcuts.

Our Adventure Partnership

Hanging out anywhere from 3 to 20 meters in the air is a pretty special experience, and at The Stix, we want to keep it that way. Adventure activities naturally involve a bit of risk, but identifying those risks is the first step to a great day out. We’ve done the heavy lifting on the safety side so you can dive into the fun with total confidence. Think of it as a team effort—we provide the top notch systems, instruction and guidance, and you bring the focus to put it into action. Together, we make sure the only thing you have to worry about is how to tackle the next obstacle.

Is The Stix safe?

Our courses and equipment are maintained to meet the Health and Safety at Work (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2016 and the High Wire and Swing Activity Safety Guideline. We perform rigorous daily and periodic inspections on all of our gear and courses.

However, the most important safety feature on the course is you. Most incidents in adventure parks happen when instructions aren’t followed. We provide a full safety briefing and demonstration before you ever leave the ground. If, after the briefing, you feel that the height or the risk isn’t for you, we’ll even give you a full refund. We’re that committed to making sure everyone on our courses wants to be there and feels capable of the challenge.

Risk Disclosure and Acknowledgement

I wish to undertake the activities operated by The Stix - Ultimate Tree Climb

I will attend the safety briefing and demonstration

I understand that there is a risk of serious harm, death or injury associated with undertaking these activities. Injuries that can occur but are not limited to are: dislocations, fractures, lacerations, bumps, bruises, cuts, chipped teeth, sprains, fatigue.

I understand there are consequences if I ignore The Stix - Ultimate Tree Climb safety management procedures and directions

I understand that there is a risk from natural events while undertaking these activities, events can include but are not limited to are: earthquakes, tsunamis, lightning, storms, high winds.

I agree that I will undertake the The Stix - Ultimate Tree Climb activities in accordance with the Conditions of Entry and Safety Rules. 

Before I climb and while on the pathways, I will attach my safety devices and remain attached to the safety line at all times.

Weight Restriction of 125kg - I declare that I am under the weight restriction limit for this activity.

I will be responsible at all times for wearing the safety equipment provided and fitted by the staff. I will not tamper with or share any part of the safety equipment with anyone. I agree to use and treat the safety equipment as instructed in order to minimize the risk of user error or of malfunction due to incorrect use or treatment. 

I consider that I am physically and mentally able to operate the safety equipment correctly and sustain the level of exertion and stress resulting from the The Stix - Ultimate Tree Climb activities. To the best of my knowledge. I certify that I do not have any medical condition or special needs that may affect my own or others' safety.

I acknowledge that The Stix - Ultimate Tree Climb will take all reasonable and practicable steps to keep me safe while I am involved in these activities. However, I agree that I also have a responsibility for my safety and accept full responsibility for my own actions or inactions. 

The Stix - Ultimate Tree Climb will refund you in full at the end of the safety briefing and demonstration if you are not willing or incapable of operating the safety equipment or of undertaking the risk.
